A couple of weeks ago we traveled to the Big Island of Hawaii, known as Hawaii, for my birthday. The first couple of days were a little hectic and Pete was sick pretty much the entire trip :( but overall we had a great time!
Oh, the main airport on the island is on the dry side of the island and is also surrounded by lava fields. As we were driving (as in a 3.5 hour drive to the OTHER side of the island) Katheryn looked around at the black rocks and the short scrub brush and said, "Is this Texas? This doesn't look like Hawaii."
Luckily it wasn't all barren!
